This unit allows the photographer to be away from the camera, yet take pictures, even when there are obstacles (walls, etc.) between him or her and the camera. This wireless shutter release activates the auto focus and the automatic meter systems of the camera and then trips the shutter just as if the photographer was holding the camera and squeezing the shutter release button. The transmitter has a two position button. Depressing the button half way activates the auto focus and the meter, depressing the rest of the way fires the shutter, just like the cameras shutter release. An LED indicates that the auto focus and meter have been activated and then that the shutter has fired.
Because there can be other photographers in the area or wireless networks, the photographer can choose one of 16 channels to work with. Range is up to 100 feet. The transmitter is powered by one 23GA battery which is included. The receiver is powered by 2 AAA batteries.

When I received this I started using it. It didn't work consistently. I called the company and they said to return it. After speaking with them it started working so I just kept it. Now it doesn't work any more. I've changed batteries, moved them around and everything. Guess I'll be buying a different brand.
Shoddy construction, unreliable, overpriced

I bought this thing a while back - it worked for a short time, then worked intermittently, now it doesn't work at all. Useless. And the price is outrageous, now that there are so many alternatives (there weren't when I bought it).
Do NOT buy this thing.
